Once again I’m just astounded at how quickly this week has flown by! Trusted Source is just as busy as ever with continued efforts towards planning and marketing The Radiant Woman retreat as well as coordinating some other projects too.
Specifically, I’m working on getting the contact information and nonprofit status of several mental healthcare providers in the Orlando area. I’m helping to compile a list of agencies and points of contact at those organizations so that they can take our survey for the Commission on Aging’s mental health subcommittee. The survey is meant to help us gather resources and information about mental health services that are provided by these agencies for the benefit of individuals over the age of fifty that require care. This is perhaps one of my most difficult tasks to date here at Trusted Source but I look forward to the challenge and the eventual reward of helping the residents of the area obtain necessary information and vital access to care.
As I’ve mentioned in a previous blog, it has been well documented that patients who require mental health services are perhaps one of the most underserved populations in the United States in terms of healthcare. Not only do they face the stigma that is associated with mental health, but the services they need are not nearly as accessible as they should be and they also come at great fiscal cost. Although my efforts do not significantly affect the status of mental healthcare for all Americans, I do have a sense of catharsis knowing that I am doing something to help, no matter how small in scale.
Well that’s it for this week; I hope you all have a lovely weekend! Can you believe next week is already the 4th of July?!
