Picturing Mainstreet Art Deadline Extended
ORLANDO, Fla. (February 2014) – The deadline for CityArts Factory’s annual “Picturing Main Street” exhibition has been extended through March 15, 2014.
Orlando’s eight Main Street districts, including Downtown South, are seeking artists for the exhibition slated for May 15 through June 13, 2014.
Participating artists must produce one or more works depicting their vision of one or more of Orlando’s Main Street districts. Artists need not live or work in a Main Street district, but submittals must depict an artistic vision of the people, places, things or happenings unique to that Main Street district.
Submissions, due electronically to by March 15, 2014, must include high resolution JPG images of the submitted work. All work must be original.
The selection committee will inform artists whether their pieces are selected by April 15, 2014. Artwork will need to be dropped off at CityArts Factory with a submission form in early May, framed and ready for hanging or display. Commission on any sales is 25 percent. The Artist Opening Reception will be held May 15, 2014, from 6-9 p.m.

Downtown South is one of eight Orlando Main Street programs initiated by Mayor Buddy Dyer and established in 2008. The area encompasses Orange Avenue from Gore on the North to Pineloch on the South and Michigan Street from Osceola on the East and Division on the West.
