I have made a giant leap into the world of public relations by joining the Trusted Source Consulting team. I was presented with many internship opportunities, but Trusted Source blew me away with their commitment to enhancing the Central Florida community. My last internship focused solely on small businesses. Non-profits are a welcome change for me. My goals for this internship are to enhance my writing skills, gain experience with event planning, and generate exposure for Trusted Source Consulting.
My first week has already been genuinely productive. I’ve been researching our diverse set of clients. Work Well Winter Park (WWWP) reminds me of Wellness & Health Promotion Services (WHPS) at UCF. Both WWWP and WHPS promote smoke free environments, health screenings and education programs. I also encountered a compelling quote on another of our client’s website, “I would have rather loved and lost my dad than to never have known him at all.” Powerful words from 10 year old, Kean McCarty. After reading an excerpt from “Finding Joy After Loss,” I must read this book. Check it out at, https://www.createspace.com/4055717
I had my first project on Wednesday. I had to create a flyer for our partner, Our Whole Community. This was quite the challenge for me as I am still developing my graphic design skills. Fortunately for me, Leah was very patient with me and provided great insight. I’m proud to present our completed OWC August Calendar of events.
